Background The Billboard Hot 100 is the standard measure of song popularity in the United States, compiled weekly using data from streaming, radio airplay, and retail sales. At the start of the 2026 chart year, Billboard adjusted its recurrent rules to move older, declining songs off the charts faster, potentially clearing the path for more frequent changes at the top of the chart. However, dominant multi-week hits can still block new music from reaching the top spot. This market tracks whether early summer 2026 will see high turnover at #1 or be dominated by one or two major releases. This description was generated by AI.
